Choose a Vegan Curly Supplier by Its Protocol, Not Its Label

A vegan curly range should cover the full salon protocol, document its claims and include technical training from its manufacturer.

To choose a supplier of vegan curly hair products, check three things: that the range covers the full salon protocol, from cleansing to finish; that its vegan and sulphate-free claims are backed by documentation; and that the manufacturer trains your team to apply it. A vegan label without a protocol cannot sustain a service.

What Protocol Should the Range Cover in the Salon?

The curly method is not a product, it is a sequence. If a supplier only offers a sulphate-free shampoo, the salon completes the routine with other brands and the result stops being predictable, so the first thing to insist on is a complete protocol within the same range.

Love Natural Curls, Yanguas Professional's range for the curly method, brings together six products covering five steps:

Step Love Natural Curls product
Cleansing Professional Shampoo or Co-Wash Conditioner
Treatment Professional Mask
Leave-in conditioning Leave-in Conditioner
Definition Curl Defining Cream
Finish Concentrated Oil

The co-wash cleanses and conditions in a single step, so the service starts with it or with the shampoo, never both. A serious supplier explains when to use each one, not just sells them.

How Do You Check That a Range Is Genuinely Vegan?

There is no legal definition of a vegan cosmetic in the European Union. What does exist is the obligation for every claim on the label to be provable: Regulation (EU) No 655/2013 sets the common criteria these statements must meet, and the Commission's guidance restates the key one.

Claims for cosmetic products, whether explicit or implicit, should be supported by adequate and verifiable evidence regardless of the types of evidential support used to substantiate them, including where appropriate expert assessments.

Technical document on cosmetic claims, EU Sub-Working Group on Claims, 3 July 2017

The same technical document on cosmetic claims gives "free from animal-derived ingredients" in products intended for vegans as an acceptable example. In practice, ask the supplier for the technical sheet of each format and check that what the label promises matches its ingredient list.

Love Natural Curls is declared vegan and free from salts, sulphates, silicones, alcohol and parabens, formulated with 95% of ingredients of natural origin such as wheat protein, vegetable oils and shea butter.

What Sets a Manufacturer Apart From a Brand That Only Resells

A supplier that manufactures controls the formula, the batches and the supply; one that resells depends on third parties for all three. Yanguas Professional has formulated and manufactured in Tudela (Navarre) since 1994 and controls the process from the selection of raw materials to packaging.

The second criterion is the professional channel. A curly range that turns up discounted on marketplaces turns the salon into a showroom: the client tries the service and buys the product cheaper online. Yanguas Professional is not on Amazon, eBay or AliExpress, which protects the margin on retail sales.

💡 Professional tip: before adding a curly range to your service menu, run the full protocol on one client with dry curls and another with fine curls. It is the fastest way to check whether the definition holds without weighing the hair down.

What Training Should the Supplier Provide?

A five-step protocol only works if the whole team applies it the same way, and that takes technical training from the manufacturer. Yanguas Professional offers in-person or online training to the salons that take on the brand, and the Yanguas Academy runs courses and master classes with renowned hairdressers throughout the year.

Training closes the loop: the vegan product, the sequence and the technique reach the salon together. The Green Beauty model the range is made under is on the Yanguas Professional sustainability page, and what each of its six products does is explained in the Love Natural Curls formats.
